Privacy and data
How Birdie handles your voice, what Chirp keeps, for how long, and how to turn AI processing off.
This page explains how the app behaves. Our Privacy Policy, Terms and Data Processing Annex are the formal versions.
Your voice and AI processing
To turn what you say into records, Birdie sends your audio and transcripts to third-party AI providers for transcription and understanding. Before you first use Birdie, the app shows How Birdie processes your voice, which names those providers. Birdie only starts once you tap Enable Birdie.
Turn Birdie off
Go to Settings → Privacy → Birdie & AI processing and switch it off. With it off:
- Birdie cannot record or take notes, and the Birdie buttons in the app are locked.
- You can still open and edit records by hand.
Turn it back on from the same place, or by tapping any locked Birdie button. Your choice is stored on your phone, so after reinstalling the app you are asked again.
The microphone
Chirp only uses the microphone during a session. A session keeps recording if you switch to another app, until you end it, so you can look something up mid-conversation. The app ends a session that has been in the background for more than 5 minutes.
What Chirp keeps
Chirp does not change anything in your connected tools except what you push, the tasks you asked Birdie to send, and the email drafts and calendar events you asked for.
Your data and other reps
Each rep's data is their own. There are no team workspaces yet, so nobody else at your company can see your sessions or pending changes in Chirp.
Disconnecting and deleting
- Disconnecting a tool removes from Chirp what came from that tool, including changes you have not pushed. See Connectors.
- Deleting your account removes your account and your data. See Manage your account.
